One thing that was really interesting about Cuba is that it's a poor country that doesn't know it's poor. They have made a living out of making do with what they have, and finding a way to make something out of nothing, or little to nothing. "Ingenuity" is their middle name.

The two currency economy was in full display when we saw hundreds of people waiting in line to buy ice cream on our first day in the city. It was cheaper to buy on this day, using the currency reserves for locals.
